National Parks to Visit in the United States
What are some of the most amazing hiking trails in the United States?
The United States is easily one of the most sought-after hiking destinations in the world, namely because of its remarkably amazing trails. There are more than 88,000 miles (about 141,622.27 km) of trails weaving all over the states, and each one is magic in its own rite. A few of the best hiking trails in the United States include the awesome Cadillac North Ridge Trail, at Acadia National Park in Maine. It’s 4.4 miles of unspoiled, beyond amazing landscapes that only Maine is capable of. Then, head out to Montana and do the Grinnell Glacier Trail at Glacier National Park. That one’s a bit longer, at 11.2 miles long, but it makes for the perfect scenic day hike. You also can’t miss the incredible Horseshoe Bend Trail, in Page, Arizona, which is one of the Southwest’s most iconic places. That hike is short and sweet, at just one and a half miles long, and it’s wonderful.
What are the most popular National Parks in the United States?
At the time of this writing, there are 63 splendid National Parks in the United States. Two of the most popular ones are the breathtaking Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee, which sees about 11.3 million visitors each year. Then, you can’t miss an opportunity to visit the world-famous Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, which sees 6.2 million visitors annually (on average). That one is an absolute must-do for your bucket list; there is nothing in the world quite like it.
When are the get-in-free days at National Parks?
Every year, the National Parks Service announces dates during which our amazing National Parks are free to enter! Those dates tend to be fairly rigid, only varying by the specific day, for the most part. The days to get in free to National Parks include Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January, the first day of National Park Week in April, the annual anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act in August, National Public Lands Day in September, and Veteran’s Day in November.
