Right now is the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy North Dakota’s summer months while they last. While there are plenty of ways to soak up the sun, swimming is usually the best and most fun for everyone! Enjoy a refreshing dip into one of these 7 swimming holes you may not know about:
1. Golden Lake - Hatton
This scenic lake in Hatton, North Dakota has a swimming beach, docks, and more to create the perfect destination on a hot day. There is a resort located there, the Golden Lake Resort, and it is also a recreational area for everyone.
2. Brewer Lake - Erie
Located in Erie, North Dakota, this lake has fantastic views, cool water, and plenty of opportunity for a great summer day full of swimming. There are facilities and a campground at the lake for everything you need.
3. Patterson Lake - Dickinson
This lake lies just west of Dickinson, North Dakota. It is great for swimming, fishing, boating, and just about any other water activity you can think of. There is a recreation area with a swimming beach and facilities.
4. Spiritwood Lake - Spiritwood
You can find gorgeous views like this at Spiritwood Lake near the small town that goes by the same name. There is a resort there as well as tons of shoreline to enjoy.
5. Clausen Springs - Kathryn
This swimming beach is located on the edge of Clausen Springs and within the Clausen Springs Recreation Area. It is located right in between the towns of Hasting and Kathryn, North Dakota. Enjoy the deep blue waters from the sandy shores or take a boat out onto the lake. Either way, you're in for some fun!
6. Jamestown Reservoir - Jamestown
Right on the edge of Jamestown, North Dakota is a reservoir that has become a fantastic place for swimming and other recreation. It is perfect for a day trip to jump in the water and cool off.
