There’s no denying that Montana is a gorgeous state (and the envy of most of the Western U.S.). And it isn’t hard to find a restaurant that offers stunning views. That being said, you won’t find anything quite like Schafer’s Restaurant in Bigfork. Between its gorgeous views of Flathead Lake, delicious food, and reasonable prices, it’s safe to say this place is in a league of its own.

Summer is tourist season in Bigfork, but the town is also known as Montana's winter wonderland. The lake views are equally as stunning when it's snowing outside.
Luckily, the food at Schafer's is incredible. Executive chef Jeans Matheros studied French cooking in culinary school, but he is trained in all kinds of cuisines, including American.
While you'll find seafood, chicken, pasta, and salads on the menu, the steaks are the main focus... and they are exceptional.
