10. North Berwich Company Mill, North Berwick (Jumanji)
One of the best characters played by the late, great Robin Williams, Alan Parrish is released from the board game when two children begin playing with it. The exterior of the Parrish shoe factory was filmed at the Hurd Mill in North Berwick, Maine. The building was once a prosperous mill that made wool products, but had been empty for many years. Were you around for the filming of any of these? Head to our Facebook page and let us know what it was like!
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
