Visit The Jordan Pond Loop Trail In Maine For A Beautiful, Waterside Springtime Hike

The Jordan Pond Loop Trail in Maine offers a scenic and accessible hiking experience, especially beautiful in spring and summer.

Maine is beautiful any time of year, but when spring rolls around, things get absolutely beautiful. When the snow melts, and the leaves on the trees begin to come back, spring is in the air, and life begins to feel a bit more warm. Summer can't be far behind. Once you feel it, enjoy it by heading outdoors. The Jordan Pond Loop Trail in Maine is a great way to ease into things. It's not too hard, not too long, and perfect if you've missed those waterfront views.

One of the most beautiful landscapes in the state can be found in Acadia National Park.

Circling the lovely Jordan Pond, this 3.5-mile route will take hikers all the way around the body of water that's been made famous by so many photos.

The Jordan Pond Loop can be accessed by parking in the Jordan Pond North parking lot. You'll find the lot along the Park Loop Road. Just head about 3.5 miles south of the turn for the road leading to the summit of the Cadillac Mountain Summit.

You can also park at the Jordan Pond House lot, but this is likely to be very busy in the warmer months. Assuming you park in the north lot, head to the boat launch to take in the view and then set off on your journey!

Things start off easy as you head north. You'll be on the east side of the pond.

The route should take between one hour and two hours, depending on how fast you walk and how often you stop.

Along the way, you'll have the chance to go over two beautiful bridges over streams leading to the pond.

While the first part of the route is fairly simple and straightforward, things begin to get a bit more challenging on the western side of the pond.

There are some rocky bits here that require navigating around. But you'll also have a chance to see more of the water.

And it sure is beautiful!

This is where the gravel path turns into a boardwalk, which is great for little legs. Kids seem to like the fun of having to stay on the wooden path.

The route comes to an end at the Jordan Pond House which is a great place to enjoy popovers and tea before heading on your way!
