The One-Of-A-Kind Trail In Wyoming With Sky-High Views And A Hidden Waterfall Is Quite The Hike
One of the most popular hikes near Cheyenne, Wyoming is the Crow Creek Trail in Curt Gowdy State Park. Not only will you find beautiful views and fun terrain to explore, but at the crux of the hike, there’s a hidden waterfall! Check out what makes this one a true local favorite.
This 3.6-mile trail only requires about 400 feet of elevation gain total, so it's not difficult for most hikers, and even kids will have a blast on the out-and-back route.
You'll find Curt Gowdy State Park near Cheyenne, too, which makes it particularly accessible for a lot of Wyoming residents and visitors.
The trail features beautiful views that change frequently, so keep your eyes open! You'll want to bring a camera or be ready to snap pictures with your cellphone. The unique landscape is one big perk of this popular hike.
If you like hopping around on rocks, you'll find plenty to explore on and off trail. There are spots for scrambling or just laying in the sun - just watch out for snakes that tend to have that same idea.
You'll find yourself enjoying sprawling views of the Granite Springs Reservoir and Middle Crow Creek. If the weather is hot enough, take a dip to cool off!
About 1.3 miles from the trailhead, you'll start to see clues that you're approaching Hidden Falls. Be sure to keep an eye out, though, because it's fairly easy to miss.
You'll actually have to wind your way through a narrow opening in the rocks to see the waterfall. When the water is low, you'll be getting your feet wet, and when it's higher, you'll want to roll up your pants or hike out here in shorts.
The water is always pretty chilly, but getting to see a beautiful secret waterfall tucked away in this rock tunnel is one of the coolest hiking experiences you can have in Wyoming. Welcome to the other Hidden Falls!
