Your Heart Will Grow Two Sizes After Visiting The “Hou-Ville” Indoor Christmas Village In Texas
Editor’s Note: Hou-Ville is not returning this year. For more holiday cheer, visit the best Christmas towns in Texas.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a quintessential holiday film, and one Texas city is putting its very own spin on the fictional town of Whoville this holiday season. Downtown Houston has been transformed into “Hou-Ville,” a whimsical world filled with Texas-sized toys, festive photo-ops, and even appearances by the Grinch himself.
It appears Mr. Grinch wasn't successful in his quest to steal Christmas—in fact, "Hou-Ville" is more festive than ever this year!
Not only will you see displays inspired by the movie, but also gingerbread houses, gift shops, Santa himself, and plenty of festive installations paying homage to Space City.
Perfectly staged photo-ops abound, so don't forget your camera!
The parking garage is located at 511 Rusk Street, and you'll use entrance #1. Park on level 2, head through the double glass doors, and the venue will be to your immediate right.
Tickets cost $30 for adults and $15 for children, and each group gets to spend 90 minutes inside. Time slots are available from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, and 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Friday-Sunday. Visit the attraction’s website or Facebook page to learn more, including about the precautions being taken to lessen the spread of COVID-19.
