Texas’ Largest Ever Mac & Cheese Festival Is Coming To Arlington This Month
We Texans are known for our healthy appetites, and one festival is letting us eat ’till our heart’s content. The Texas Mac & Cheese Festival is the largest event of its kind, with more than 15 vendors serving more than 40 varieties of your favorite childhood dinner.
In just over one week, Texas' largest ever mac and cheese festival is taking over Arlington. More than 15 of the best restaurants and food trucks in the area will converge to make your gooiest, most indulgent culinary desires a reality.
Each vendor doles out samples just large enough for guests to appreciate the unique flavor profiles without getting overly stuffed. Whether you like it fried, topped with breadcrumbs, or covered in Flamin' Hot Cheetos, rest assured there's a mac for everyone.
What happens when you combine mac & cheese with authentic dishes from around the world? Deliciousness, that's what. Pictured here is a deep-fried empanada stuffed with mac from Taste of Brazil Authentic Brazilian Cuisine — and yes, you can get one at the festival.
There will also be a french fry bar, complete with tons of toppings to make the most delicious, entirely customizable creations imaginable. VIP tickets include one free order, but you can always just purchase a trip separately. Those with competitive appetites should consider entering one of two eating contests for the chance to win a cash prize and other awards.
A voucher system will be used for all food-related items, and the going rate is 10 for $15. This doesn't apply to bars, beer gardens, and other beverage stations, which operate on a normal cash and credit system. Additional vendors will offer funnel cakes, cotton candy, ice cream, hot chocolate, and other goodies to wash down the mac with something sweet.
Since mac & cheese is a classic kid food, there'll be lots of other activities to keep the theme going. Nostalgic games like Jenga unleash the inner child in all of us, while face painting and bounce houses provide entertainment for the actual little ones.
General admission is $29.99 and includes 10 vouchers, while VIP tickets go for $54.99 and allow for two hours of unlimited mac & cheese. Visit the festival’s website or Facebook page to learn more.
