Two rivers intersect at this tiny but mighty waterfall near the visitor center at McKinney Falls State Park. Its height isn't much to shake a stick at, but the water pressure is always a steady gush.

Not many people are aware Madrid Falls even exists, which is a true shame considering it's the second-tallest waterfall in Texas. Nestled in a valley high above the Rio Grande banks, this breathtaking gem is visible from three different scenic overlooks.

This 10-foot waterfall can be seen when taking a trip to the Devil's River Natural Area in Comstock, which is near Del Rio. As its name suggests, the Devils River is full of treacherous rapids, so only experienced kayakers are encouraged to paddle out and experience the falls firsthand (and get out of the boat well before the drop, of course).

Surrounded by jungle-like vegetation, this emerald swimming hole looks like a scene from Tarzan! The lush greenery and cascading waterfall will mentally transport you to a faraway island paradise.

On the Sawmill Hiking Trail, which traverses the enchanting Angelina National Forest, crosses Boykin Creek. It's here you'll find a small, yet surprisingly healthy waterfall that flows through the Pineywoods terrain.

Hiding deep within the mystical desert landscape of Big Bend National Park, Cattail Falls is an 80-foot tall natural wonder whose beauty cannot be described in words. It takes a 5.7-mile hike to get here, but the payoff is well worth the effort.

Tucked away in Johnson City, a small town not too far outside of Austin, Pedernales Falls State Park is among the most underrated Hill Country destinations. Pristine water from a nearby river trickles down over a series of gigantic rocks, creating a picturesque scene that deserves a top spot on your summer bucket list.
