While Pace Bend Park is one of our favorite swimming holes in Austin, there are lots of other great places to take a dip in our gorgeous city. Just outside of Austin actually you can find the worlds largest spring-fed swimming hole! The swimming hole in Balmorhea State Park is the perfect place to cool off on a sweltering Texas day. Or if you're feeling daring, you can go take a sanctioned skinny dip at hippie hollow. The water is so incredibly clear that it's hard to believe. Are there any waterfall hikes in Austin?

There are a good few waterfall hikes in Austin actually! If you're looking for some shade, the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve is a nice easy loop under two miles with stunning views and the chance to spot some rare animals. Another great choice is the secluded creek trail through St. Edwards park. The waterfalls are smaller but the sound of them running is so soothing and there is lots of gorgeous flora and fauna about to observe!
