Anyone can search for a great restaurant – but we’ve given you the most beautiful spots to drive, ever.
3) The Great Smoky Mountains
There are hundreds of miles you can drive in the Great Smoky Mountains, the entire park boasting natural vistas that will keep your camera clicking and your jaw on the ground.
You can head down to Cades Cove Valley
Or take in the Cataloochee Valley - it bleeds over into North Carolina, but Tennessee is neighborly.
Take in the highest spot in Tennessee at Clingman's Dome
And watch the fall colors burst into being along Newfound Gap.
Sunrise or sunset, a road trip that spans the East Tennessee is sure to fill up your scrapbook.
2) Memphis to Nashville - or Nashville to Memphis
Does it really matter if you begin in Nashville or Memphis? Or Memphis then Nashville? Doesn't matter, we're just making it confusing. We're starting in Memphis. Because, duh - THAT VIEW.
Pick from any one of Memphis' fantastic BBQ restaurants. They're all amazing
Walk down the historic streets, hang out on Beale if you're feelin' up for some touristy local life.
Then get on the road! You can take in some gorgeous Tennessee countryside as you make the three and a half hour drive from one lovely city to the next.
Stop off in Jackson, made famous by Johnny Cash. Even if you aren't gettin' married in any fever, we like to say he's singing about Tennessee - though many stick with Mississippi. Take a pit stop here and let us know your thoughts, hey?
Heeeello there Nashville! Welcome to Music City, USA. Walk down Broadway and grab a drink at one of the famous bars, while you're at it.
Walk one of the gorgeous parks in the area, like Centennial where you'll find a replica of the Parthenon.
Enjoy some snobby coffee at Barista Parlor or Crema. They sure know where they're doing when it comes to a cup of joe!
Enjoy the ride. One of the neatest parts about road trips? No two are the same. Stop and take pictures of that pretty barn or the bubbling creek. It's Tennessee - we promise every inch is pretty much stunning.
1) Natchez-Trace Parkway
Stretching over four hundred miles from mid-Tennessee to Mississippi, Natchez-Trace is one of the most sought after road trips in the nation. You'll see stunning trails, waterfalls, rivers and beautiful bridges.
Watch the southern skies stretch out ahead of you during your drive.
But make sure to stop and snap some shots!
There are scads of little towns on your way out of state, or you could make stop in Nashville.
You can even pull over and take a quick hike if you need to stretch your legs.
The Tennessee River is a stunning spot to dip your toes in the water and reminisce about the memories you made, tumbling about Tennessee.
