Although we love our big zoos, sometimes you just want an intimate, unique zoo experience in small-town Tennessee. When we stumbled across the Little Ponderosa Zoo, we couldn’t wait to share the incredible news. A locally owned establishment! A non-profit with a heart of gold! Fun for the entire family! It’s all here, and it’s a must if you’re looking for summer fun.

The Little Ponderosa Zoo and Rescue works hard to provide exotic animals with a home right here in Tennessee. The nonprofit rescues animals from all over the USA, with roughly 98% of the zoo's inhabitants being rescues.

Tickets are available for $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and children, and children under the age of two can visit for free. Group rates are different, so make sure to contact Little Ponderosa Zoo for an estimation of cost.

You can visit for yourself from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays from March to October. Hours change in November, and the zoo is closed to the public other than organized parties, groups and field trips from December to February.
