1. Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe - Reno
Opening in 1953, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is the closest ski resort to Reno. At about 8,260 ft, Mt. Rose is Tahoe's highest base elevation. This resort may be named after Mt. Rose, but it's actually located on the slopes of Slide Mountain. With nearly 1,200 acres worth of north and east facing slopes, Mt. During the winter season, The Cosmopolitan transforms the Boulevard Pool into The Ice Rink, which overlooks the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. 3. The Polar Express - Ely
At Nevada Northern Railway, in Ely, you'll get to experience the magic you've read about and seen in the movie, The Polar Express. 5. Diamond Peak Ski Resort - Incline Village

6. WinterFest 2015 - Henderson
Henderson will host its annual WinterFest celebration at the Henderson Events Plaza and Henderson Convention Center on December 10-12. This family-friendly event will feature a variety of activities, some of which include an official tree lighting ceremony with Santa Claus, gingerbread house displays, roaming performances and an evening light parade. 7. Mount Charleston - Clark County
With an elevation of 11,916 ft, Mount Charleston is the highest mountain in both the Spring Mountains and Clark County. This beautiful mountain is a great location for an afternoon hike during the winter season.
8. Reno Santa Pub Crawl - Downtown Reno
On Saturday, December 12, 2015 (7:30pm-1:00am), thousands of Santas will gather in downtown Reno to enjoy good spirits and yule-tide cheer. More than 15,000 holiday-clad revelers are expected to attend this year's festivity. Because so many people are expected to attend, additional bars will be added. The best thing about this event is that all the proceeds are used to benefit local schools. Keep in mind, you MUST be 21 years old to attend. If you try to sneak in, Santa will most likely put you on the naughty list. Most importantly, have fun, be careful and Merry Christmas!
9. A Beautiful Chalet Rental in Tyrolian Village - Incline Village
Gather up your family, friends or special someone and rent a cozy chalet in Tyrolian Village. I can't think of a better place to be during the winter season. Hey, everyone needs a vacation every now and then!
10. The Magical Forest - Las Vegas
The Magical Forest, at Opportunity Village, is a winter wonderland that features millions of sparkling lights, nightly entertainment, wonderful food and lots of holiday cheer. A few other activities enjoyed at The Magical Forest include the following: a forest filled with dazzling trees, Cheyenne’s Enchanted Carousel and Rudolph’s Raceway.
