WinterFest In Nevada Is A Holiday Event That Is Positively Enchanting
At first, winter seems like a good time to slow down and take a breath. However, it turns out that Nevada boasts just as many unique events and festivities to take part in during this enchanting time of year as it does during the warmer months. In fact, one of the state’s most beloved holiday events is coming up soon and you’ll want to be sure to attend at least once. WinterFest is considered the largest holiday event in Northern Nevada and it absolutely belongs on your holiday bucket list.
Known as one of Reno's most beloved holiday events, WinterFest is a family-friendly experience that's perfect for getting into the holiday spirit. It takes place every year at Greater Nevada Field and this year's event is looking better than ever.
Exact dates for the 2019 season have yet to be announced, but WinterFest typically runs for the majority of December. The event is perfect for children and families, although everybody—even Grinch himself—will find themselves completely charmed by WinterFest's dazzling displays and fun attractions.
The event's main attraction is definitely the Holiday Express Train. This narrated journey takes you on a wonderful little ride around the inside of the stadium to deliver Santat's Naughty and Nice list.
Both adults and children can ride the train and tickets can be purchased inside of the team store. The train runs for approximately 10 minutes for each ride and boards inside of the stadium along the concourse. Tickets are $10 per person.
Another beloved feature of WinterFest are the appearances from the one and only Santa Claus. Take a photo with the big guy himself in Santa's Village. Photo packages start at $15 and they are printed on-site so you can take them home with you.
In the past, WinterFest also boasted an outdoor ice rink located in front of Greater Nevada Field. Unfortunately, this year the rink has moved to the corner of 6th and Sierra Street. You can still complete your WinterFest experience with some time on the rink, just be aware it's now a couple blocks away.
Afterwards, you can spend some time talking around Greater Nevada Field and perusing the surroundings shops and eateries. Places like Red's Broken Bat BBQ make for a fantastic place to stop for dinner after an evening filled with holiday fun!
