1. Oasis Falafel
Oasis Falafel serves amazing pita sandwiches, including their falafel pita, of course, for a mere $5.95. Chicken, beef and lamb gyros are $7.95. Oasis also serves a kebab plate for slightly over $10, and they have the best hummus you can find in the state. Address: 206 N Linn St., Iowa City, IA.
2. Starboard Market
Starboard Market serves amazingly delicious sandwiches in a charming atmosphere. They also serve plenty of soups, salads and homemade desserts. Address: 310 Main Ave., Clear Lake, IA.
3. Diamond Thai
Diamond Thai serves amazing, authentic curries, pad Thai and other traditional dishes to die for. Most of their entrees fall between the $7 to $9 mark. Address: 515 W 7th St., Sioux City, IA.
4. La Juanita
Some have claimed that this unassuming Mexican restaurant serves the best burrito in Iowa. Pretty much everything on their menu falls under $10. Address: 613 Lake Ave. North, Storm Lake.

Authentic Cuban food for under $10? Yes, please! The Lost Cuban is a small place serving delicious Cuban food in the heart of Cedar Rapids. Their Cuban is their specialty, but they have plenty of other options on the menu. Their Cuban sandwich is $8, and their main dishes fall between $9 and $10. Address: 209 3rd St. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA.
6. Canteen Lunch in the Alley
The Canteen is an Ottumwa institution. At their small lunch counter, they serve the most mouthwatering loose-meat sandwiches, malts, pies and more. Plus, with prices for menu items all under the $5 mark, you’ll have an amazing meal for well under $10. Address: 112 2nd St. E, Ottumwa, IA.
7. Chuckwagon Restaurant
Chuckwagon has many delectable options on the menu, including a burger that won the Iowa’s Best Burger contest for 2016 by the Iowa Beef Industry Council and the Iowa Cattlemen's Association. Their sandwiches and burgers hover right around the $10 mark, but they’re huge and they come with fries on the side. Address: 113 South 5th Street, Adair, IA.
8. QDogs BBQ Company
QDogs has incredible brisket, ribs, wings, chicken and sides. Many of their sandwiches fall under the $10 mark, and they come with a choice of side, like apple cider slaw, fries, cheesy potatoes, smoked beans or sweet southern cornbread. Address: 895 Blairs Ferry Rd., Marion, IA.
9. Morg’s Diner
Morg's is an old-school diner with a jukebox in every booth. They offer big servings at low prices, including their ginormous pancakes. Every item on the menu is under $10, and you’ll leave stuffed and satisfied. Address: 520 Mulberry St., Waterloo, IA.
10. Taylor’s Maid-Rite
Taylor’s Maid-Rite menu is simple and classic. But why get fancy when you do what you do so well? This old-school restaurant serves up the best loose-meat sandwiches you can find, along with homemade ice-cream and drinks. 106 S 3rd Ave., Marshalltown, IA.
11. La Regia Taqueria
La Regia Taqueria is a local favorite, and it’s easy to see why. It has a big menu full of tasty authentic Mexican dishes at great prices. Their tacos are under the $5 mark, and their burritos are around $5-$6. Their combos include more food at a higher price, but even those mostly fall under the $10 mark. 436 IA-1, Iowa City.
