There’s An Incredible Meteor Shower Happening This Summer And Georgia Has A Front Row Seat

Summertime makes for the perfect time to bust out a thermos of coffee, stay up until the wee hours of the morning, and catch a meteor shower that will light up the Georgia sky. While there have already been quite a few meteor showers this year, we have the perfect one happening this summer and you’ll want to know where to watch.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

The Perseid Meteor Shower takes place every year from July to August. The peak of the meteor shower occurs from August 12 to August 13. With a new moon in 2018, the night sky will be superb conditions to catch shooting stars.

For the more adventurous ones out there, here is another way to catch nighttime views in Stephen C. Foster State Park.
