Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon is just one of the amazing natural wonders in Georgia. There are several others, including Amicalola Falls. At over 700 feet in height, the towering cascade is the tallest waterfall in Georgia. Easy accessible, it’s nestled within Amicalola Falls State Park. The waterfall isn’t the only reason to visit the 829-acre park, though. It’s got lots of other perks, including a secluded backcountry lodge, which boasts cozy beds, hot showers, and hearty meals.

You’ll find some of the most scenic and best hiking trails in Georgia at Cloudland Canyon State Park in Rising Fawn. The park is brimming with perks, including 64 miles of great trails. Two of the best hikes in the park are the West Rim Loop Trail and the Waterfalls Trail. Not for the novice hiker, the West Rim Loop Trail is 5 miles long and rated as “moderately strenuous.” Definitely worth the effort, it was named one of the top 10 hikes in the U.S. by Backpacker Magazine. At 2 miles in length, the Waterfalls Trail is half the distance, but still requires some effort, as it’s rated as “strenuous.” Also worth the effort and true to its name, the trek leads to two sizable waterfalls.
