The Alabama Town In The Middle Of Nowhere That’s So Worth The Journey
There’s no denying that Alabama is filled with many small towns that are worthy of a visit. One in particular is Columbiana, which is seemingly in the middle of nowhere. If you happen to stumble upon this wonderful town while driving, be sure to stop and check it out. It’s so worth the journey, and here’s why:
Columbiana is an Alabama town that focuses on the simpler way of life. Known for its love of community, it's a great town to visit and an even greater town to call home.
Columbiana's motto is "Embracing The Future, While Preserving The Past."
As you make your way through downtown, you can't help but notice the Eagle's Department Store mural. This large work of art will most definitely remind you of yesteryear.
The original mural was painted in 1953. It was later restored in 2006.
Columbiana, which has less than 5,000 residents, is centrally located in Shelby County and serves as the county seat.

Like most smaller towns in Alabama, Columbiana offers a variety of unique stores such as Main Street Florist, Sassy Sisters Boutique and Davis Drug Company, which features a gift gallery and nostalgic snack bar.

Should you choose to stay overnight in Columbiana, consider booking a room at the Columbiana Inn —a restored 1889 Victorian house that's been converted into a bed and breakfast. It's unbelievably charming and you'll love it!
