Alabama’s Very Own Wetumpka Was Recently Named One Of The South’s Best Small Towns
Several small towns help make up the great state of Alabama, including Wetumpka. Wetumpka is a wonderful town that offers its residents and visitors a variety of things to see and do. For a short list of these things, take a look below.

Wetumpka, known as "The City of Natural Beauty," is the county seat of Elmore County, Alabama. According to
Southern Living, it's considered one of "The South's Best Small Towns 2021."
This charming town, which has less than 7,000 residents, sits on the banks of the Coosa River. One of its main landmarks is Bibb Graves Bridge, which was built in 1931 and spans the river.
When it comes time to eat, Wetumpka boasts a variety of restaurants, one of which is Must Stop Cafe.
Offering everything from fried chicken to macaroni and cheese, this local restaurant serves all your Southern favorites. It's also quite reasonable when it comes to cost.
For a more upscale dinner, the town's Our Place Cafe is a great place to try.
This popular restaurant, which serves everything from seafood to steak, costs more, but both the food and atmosphere are totally worth it.
If you love shopping, Wetumpka's Market Shoppes is the perfect place to visit. This artisan and boutique mall, which is located in historic downtown Wetumpka, offers everything from clothing to home decor. A variety of gift items are also available for purchase.
One of the town's claims to fame is the Wetumpka Impact Crater, which is 4.7 miles wide. Believed to be approximately 83 million years old, this massive crater attracts people from near and far. After all, it's not something you see every day.
For those of you who enjoy the outdoors, Wetumpka's Gold Star Park is a great place to check out. This park is especially popular among families.
Or perhaps you'd rather take a hike. Wetumpka's
Swayback Bridge Trail, a 4.6-mile loop trail, is one of the town's most popular hiking spots.
