This Airbnb in South Carolina Is Peak Fall Vibes
Located in Walhalla with plenty of nearby trails, this Airbnb in South Carolina is perfect for fall.
Fall is by far my favorite time of year. Well, actually, I prefer winter, but nothing beats that first cold snap after a long summer. I’m from Louisiana, and we call that first cold snap of the season “gumbo weather.” While we still have some time before fall officially sinks in in South Carolina, we can still start planning our autumn getaways! One of my favorite ways to enjoy fall is to spend a weekend away, preferably somewhere in the woods, so I can bask in those beautiful fall colors. This Airbnb in South Carolina might just be the perfect place to stay to see the fall foliage this year. Let’s check it out:
One of the joys of Airbnb is finding unique places to stay that you would have never thought of before. That’s certainly the case when you stay at this beautiful shipping container.
The Airbnb in Walhalla is indeed a renovated shipping container, which, I think is an innovative and resourceful way to upcycle. It’s an idyllic little space for a couple’s retreat.
The tiny but mighty space has been carefully designed to ensure that everything flows and you don’t feel cramped. The one-bedroom, one-bathroom Airbnb has everything you’d find in a traditional cabin, just in a smaller footprint.
The property sits perched on the edge of a cliff and offers some truly spectacular views. If you can get your timing right, those mountains will dazzle when they’re peppered with shades of red, yellow, and orange.
Guests will find plenty of outdoor seating to soak in those views, too. Chairs surround a fire pit for crisp fall nights, plus an outdoor kitchen and a prep station to whip up meals. Personally, you’d find me in that hammock for the majority of the stay. Pure perfection!
One of the best things about this scenic Airbnb is that it’s pet-friendly! It seems like it’s harder and harder to find pet-friendly accommodations these days, so whenever I find one, I always bookmark it. The owners request that pets remain on a leash when outside.
Of course, leaf peeping extends far beyond staying at the Airbnb. The Airbnb is very close to several incredible outdoor adventures, including the Yellow Branch Falls trail. The three-mile trail in the Sumpter National Forest is a fantastic spot to take in those autumnal colors.
The 50-foot waterfall is a stunner, too! There are actually several smaller cascades along the trail. It’s not necessarily a difficult trail (less than 500 feet of elevation), but the trail does skirt around the edges of deep ravines, so make sure you’ve got the proper footwear (with good tread!). The Stumphouse Mountain Tunnel is also nearby, and this hidden gem is worthy of an adventure.
