The Corral Bar, Steakhouse & Motel in Gallatin Canyon offers a historic roadhouse experience with excellent food, cozy accommodations, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Montana has welcomed quite a few new restaurants in recent years, especially in our larger cities. And while it's always fun to try something new, sometimes you just need a good old-fashioned meal from a tried-and-true eatery that has been around for decades. The Corral Bar has been serving sizzling steaks to hungry Montanans since 1947, many of whom choose to rest at the on-site motel afterward. If you've never been to this old school spot, give it a try the next time you're in Gallatin County.
The Corral Bar, Steakhouse & Motel is in the heart of The Gallatin Canyon, just 20 miles north of Yellowstone National Park and five miles south of Big Sky.
Needless to say, it's always filled with tourists in the summer... but in the quieter seasons, it's a local hangout.
When this place was constructed in 1947, it was meant to be a true roadhouse for travelers going to and from Yellowstone National Park.
It still holds that title, but it also serves as a place for locals to gather for food, drinks, conversation, and entertainment.
The bar is located near many outdoor recreation areas, so you'll often see hungry hikers, skiers, snowmobilers, and hunters fueling up here after a long day.
The interior is cozy, warm, and always welcoming.
The Corral is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, and the bar is always open until 2 a.m.
If you feel too full to move or you've had a few too many cocktails, fear not - there are eight comfortable motel rooms within stumbling distance that are stocked with all the amenities for a restful slumber.
Since The Corral is mainly known as a steakhouse, ordering something from the grill here is a must.
Corral steaks are hand-cut in-house, and they're delicious. The Steak Corral is especially popular; it's a nine-ounce tenderloin wrapped in bacon, charbroiled, and topped with snow crab and Bernaise sauce. But really, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
If you're not in the mood for a steak, you'll have plenty of other tasty options. to choose from.
The charbroiled burgers are second to none, and guests rave about the Chicken Pesto Pasta.
