You’d Never Guess Some Of The Best Pizza In South Carolina Is Hiding In This Former Dodge Motor Company Building
Russell's Pizza in Blackville, South Carolina, offers some of the best pizza in the state inside a historic building.
They say never say never. But really … you just wouldn’t imagine finding some of the best food in certain places you pass by or drive up to. In fact, we’d bet you drive right by the most unassuming places fairly regularly without realizing what culinary delights are found within! Let’s take a look at such a place we’ve discovered, where some of the best pizza in South Carolina is found inside an old brick building on the main street of a small town.
Located at the corner of Highway 3 and Main Street, Russell's Pizza of Blackville is found inside what used to be the Dodge Motor Company building owned by Stanley Brown in the mid-1900s.
The windows on each side of the doors to enter the building had garage doors that opened up so the cars in the showroom could be easily seen. You can still see where the letters spelling "Brown" and "Company" were on the building facade.
When the building was restored, care was taken to maintain its character. You can feel the history while dining inside.
Russell's philosophy is that pizza-making is an art, but it offers much more than pizza, including ...
... yummy lasagna and stromboli ...
... tasty sub sandwiches and wraps ...
... and wings in a variety of rich flavors.
The pizza is hand-tossed and made-to-order, so delicious that some people drive for miles to have some.
Russell's does have additional locations in the small towns of Williston and Wagener, so if you're closer to those locations you'll still find the same wonderful food, just not in the cool, old building!
