A Refreshing Swimming Spot In South Carolina, Lake Jocassee Has The Clearest, Most Pristine Water

Lake Jocassee in South Carolina offers crystal clear waters and a variety of summer activities, making it a perfect spot for cooling off.

With the heat of summer fully upon us in the Palmetto State we're looking for new and interesting ways you can cool off and have fun at the same time. Visit this crystal clear lake in the upstate for some of the clearest water in South Carolina. Take a look at Lake Jocassee:

Lake Jocassee encompasses a gorgeous 7,500 acres and offers up an average of 75 miles of shoreline, depending on the water level.

And along those shoreline areas are some of the clearest most pristine waters in the whole lake.

They offer access to all sorts of summertime cooling-off activities including, swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, waterfall chasing and...

...canoeing! The gorgeous clear waters and sandy shoreline beaches at Lake Jocassee are perfect for getting in or on the water for some summertime fun.

Devils Fork State Park in Oconee County is a great access point for getting in and on this pristine lake. The campground has several nearby "lagoons" with crystal clear pools, some of which have waterfalls too.

The park has a couple main points of access, including just below the visitor center and over at the campground, which can be seen across the lake from the visitors center.

Swimming is permitted at Devils Fork State Park, although there are no roped-off swimming areas and lifeguards aren't provided.

Spend the day or the weekend in the upstate and cool down in Lake Jocassee's crystal clear waters!
