Hidden in the little town of Bishopville, is a three-acre creation the likes of which most will never see and can only imagine. People come from all over the world to see this beautiful garden.

2. Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet

This is a sculpture garden, as well as a wildlife preserve. The sculptures are absolutely astounding and grounds are peaceful. Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina is a great place to escape to.

3. Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, Charleston

The public gardens at Magnolia Plantation are the oldest in America. They have been here for your pleasure since 1870. There's no telling what you may find here.

4. Hopeland Gardens, Aiken

These South Carolina gardens cover 14 acres and have been opened to the public since 1969. You will find lovely stone walkways, beautiful sculptures, and trees that seem as if they've been around forever.

This 10-acre collection of plant communities features 10 different habitats. You'll find a waterfall here as well as a botanical garden.

8. Falls Park on the Reedy, Greenville

Talk about getting away from it all and not having to spend hours in a car to get there! Falls Park on the Reedy starts in the center of downtown Greenville and holds many wonders --including a gorgeous waterfall. Did you know that listening to running water in nature for just 10 minutes can lower your blood pressure?

9. Kalmia Gardens, Hartsville

Kalmia Gardens has been a respite from the hustle and bustle, as well as a spot for meditation and tranquility, since 1938. It's free of charge and open from dawn till dusk.

10. Edisto Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg

In the 1920s, five acres of azaleas were planted here.

It wasn't until 1951 that the first rose was planted. Edisto Memorial Gardens is known for its roses. They have them in all colors, and it's quite a sight when they're all in bloom. Here you'll find walking trails and beautifully done sculptures. It's absolutely delightful.

11. Hatcher Garden and Woodland Preserve, Spartanburg
