The Hidden Lake Overlook Offers Some Of The Most Breathtaking Views In Montana

Glacier National Park's Hidden Lake Overlook Trail offers a moderate hike with stunning views and abundant wildlife.

Not only is Glacier National Park the most visually stunning place in Montana (and possibly on the planet), it's full of adventurous hikes and sweeping viewpoints. Unfortunately, some of the best hiking trails with the most stunning views are tough for even the most experienced hikers to navigate. That being said, you'll definitely find some easy hikes worth taking that offer fantastic visual rewards. The Hidden Lake Overlook Trail is one of them.

You'll find the Hidden Lake Overlook Trail near Siyeh Bend at Glacier National Park.

Also known as the Hidden Lake Nature Trail, this 2.7-mile trek is ranked as moderate on AllTrails, meaning it's feasible for most Montanans to attempt.

The hike begins on the west side of the Logan Pass Visitor Center.

Just climb the stairs and look for signs for the Hanging Gardens Trailhead or the Hidden Lake Nature Trail. The trail starts as a paved surface, quickly turning into a raised boardwalk for the first section.

You'll find snow here in every season, at least in parts.

But to avoid it on the trail, hike well into the summer months.

The climb can be a bit steep for a beginning hiker, but it's so steady you might not even notice.

Besides, the views of Mt. Oberlin and Clements Mountain will make you forget you're exercising.

After about 1.4 miles of hiking, you'll reach the Hidden Lake Overlook, where panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains await you.

That's Bearhat Mountain towering over Hidden Lake.

As you hike, keep an eye out for wildlife, as it tends to be abundant here.

Mountain goats are especially common on and around the trail.

If you're going to Glacier, add this beautiful trail to your list.

It's a popular pick for tourists, so try to go during the week and first thing in the morning if you can.
