The 10 Most Mouthwatering Places To Eat In Montana’s Food Capital
Earlier this year, Thrillist listed the best food city in every state. Unsurprisingly, the “judges” chose Bozeman as Montana’s food capital — it seems the abundance of restaurants won their hearts (and stomachs).
If you live in Bozeman, you’ve no doubt got your favorite spots, but for the rest of you, these are some of the most highly rated and recommended restaurants in Montana’s finest food city.
1. Cosmic Pizza, 1912 W. Main St.
Since 2002, this family-owned pizza joint has been serving delicious pies to the Bozeman community. Not everyone agrees that they have the best pizza in town, but you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't enjoy their food.
2. Blackbird Kitchen, 140 E Main St.
This charming eatery serves everything from salads and small plates to wood fired pizzas and meaty entrees. The ambiance is great, and the food is just plain good.
3. Plonk, 29 E Main St.
Plonk has locations in both Missoula and Bozeman, but each of them have their own unique ambiance. One thing is consistent, however: The food is exceptional, and so is the wine list.
4. Backcountry Burger Bar, 125 W. Main St.
There's certainly no shortage of burger joints in Bozeman, and opinions will vary on the best one. But this locally owned, sustainably sourced, fast-casual restaurant serves some of the best and biggest burgers on the planet.
5. Nova Cafe, 312 E Main St.
Nova Cafe will have you believing that brunch is the best meal of the day. From their classic breakfasts to their creative Benedicts, you'll be hooked.
6. Copper Whiskey Bar & Grill, 101 E Main St.
This popular restaurant features all of the best food groups: beef, whiskey and bar snacks. All it takes is one meal here to be hooked.
7. Victory Taco, 122 W Main St.
You'll have to wait until summertime to try these tasty tacos from this locally famous taco truck, but make sure you do, because they're legendary. Even better, you can follow them up with locally made ice cream.
8. Emerson Grill, 207 W Olive St.
For the last 12 years, this American and Italian eatery has served delicious meals to thousands of lucky patrons. Bozeman's neighborhood restaurant is definitely one of the best.
9. Cateye Cafe, 23 N Tracy Ave.
You can get a delicious breakfast or lunch here any day of the week, and when you do, you'll be supporting local vendors -- almost everything served here is Montana-made.
10. South 9th Bistro, 721 S 9th Ave.
The reviews of this place speak for themselves... but you should really try South 9th Bistro yourself. The cuisine is French inspired, but the atmosphere here is anything but pretentious.
Bozeman is great for foodies, but it’s certainly not the only city with amazing restaurants. You’ll find
delicious dining options all over the state.
