The Minnesota Renaissance Festival Will Be Back For Its 50th Year Of Fun & Festivities
The Minnesota State Fair is always one of the highlights of the summer. But the great food, crafts, and entertainment don’t end there! There’s another popular festival that is coming back to Minnesota for its 50th year: the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. In 2021, this tradition will be as fun as ever, and it’s not to be missed! Read on below to learn more about this year’s festival.
The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is back! It’s one of the largest and oldest Renaissance festivals in the United States - and perhaps the world - and it’s back for its 50th season in 2021.
The festival will take place every Saturday and Sunday from August 21 to October 3. They’re also open for Labor Day (September 6) and Fest Friday (October 1).
As you wander the grounds - located in the Twin Cities suburb of Shakopee - you’ll find plenty to enjoy. If you’re looking for excitement, watch a joust. There’s also live music and entertainment, including the famous Puke & Snot comedy show.
There are also plenty of activities for guests to take part in, including archery, fencing, axe throwing, and more. If you love animals, you’ll enjoy the petting zoo. There are even elephant, camel, and llama rides!
Of course, you can’t go to the Renaissance Festival without trying the food! From giant turkey legs to burgers to BBQ, you’ll find many delicious foods to enjoy here. And that only scratches the surface - there are dozens of unique food vendors all over the festival!
And we would be remiss to discuss the Renaissance Festival without including the festival’s Artisan Marketplace. There will be more than 250 artisans selling their wares. You’ll find everything from handmade jewelry to pottery to leatherwork, blown glass, paintings, and more. If you’re looking for unique handmade items, this is the place!
All in all, the Minnesota Renaissance Festival is a decades-long tradition that has no shortage of things to eat, see, and do. If you’re looking for a fun place to spend a weekend this summer and fall, buy a ticket and plan a visit!
