Most People Don’t Know About The History Of This Beautiful Maine Island
Maine has over 3,000 island dotting it’s beautiful coastline. From the big ones to the ones that barely have room for someone to stand, each one has its own history. We love taking the ferry to Peaks Island, Vinalhaven and Monhegan but there are some much smaller island that offer a lot in the way of beauty and calm. House Island in Maine, located just off of Portland, is a great example of Vacationland’s island-life. It’s small, with just a few places for visitors to stay. But, it comes with history that most people are not aware of.

Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
