Lambert's Cafe in Missouri offers a unique dining experience with its famous "throwed rolls" and hearty homestyle meals.
Have you ever gone into a restaurant and asked yourself, "What the heck just happened?" Maybe it was good, maybe it was bad, but always bizarre in some way. Well, Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston and Ozark will have you scratching your head, but in a good way. This quirky restaurant's claim to fame isn't just its delicious food, but how they deliver some of your food. Let's take a look at the unique Lambert's in Ozark, MO.
Lambert's Cafe was established in 1942 in Sikeston by Earl and Agnes Lambert.
Though rationing during World War II made it difficult to operate a restaurant, the cafe still made it a point to serve a hearty meal of meat, vegetables, and dessert to all of its customers.
Today, more than 70 years later, Lambert's Cafe is thriving. The restaurant got so popular, that they opened additional spots in Ozark, Missouri, and Foley, Alabama.
You'll notice when you walk in, a sort of hodgepodge of decor. License plates and flags from different states, old family photos, and framed magazine and newspaper clippings that featured the restaurant at some point in time.
Many notable guests who come here tend to leave their mark, so take a careful look at the memorabilia on the wall.
But what makes this place truly unique, is the "throwed rolls." Servers walk up and down the aisles of the restaurant throwing bread rolls to customers.
And these rolls are pretty fantastic, so definitely try to catch one when the server starts throwing.
Just like they did 70 years ago, this cafe continues to serve hearty homestyle meals to guests.
