The Nautical-Themed Playground In South Carolina That’s Oh-So Special
Memorial Waterfront Park in Mount Pleasant features a nautical-themed playground and scenic views, making it a perfect family outing spot.
Memorial Waterfront Park has been called the crown jewel of Mount Pleasant. It’s located at the base of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and has one of the best themed playgrounds in South Carolina that is the perfect outing with your kids for some fresh air and exercise.
The playground has a fun nautical theme, from the vibrant color scheme and life preserver ring imprint to the cute dolphin equipment.
Play on the dolphin structures and then walk out on the pier in the park and look for real dolphins swimming beneath the bridge!
One component of the playground is a striking model of the iconic Ravenel Bridge, which is two-and-a-half miles long and connects downtown Charleston with Mount Pleasant. It became the longest cable-stayed bridge of its time in North America and the tallest structure in the state when it opened in 2005.
The littles will really love “piloting” the plane!
No matter your age, swing to your heart’s content.
There's also a huge open space right next to the playground for running around or picnics. (Better seen in the second dolphin pic above.)
All of the running and playing is sure to work up quite an appetite. Stroll over to the River Watch Cafe and Gift Shop for a snack, lunch, or dinner. If it’s a hot day, you can cool off with some ice cream here, too!
Visit the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park page on the Town of Mount Pleasant website for additional information.
