1. Fertile Ground Festival

In its 9th year, this theater festival showcases new works at multiple venues around town. Combining world premieres, readings, and workshops, this is a must for theater lovers in the city. The festival takes place throughout the metro area January 18 through January 28, 2018.

2. Portland Winter Light Festival

Illuminating public spaces with art and design, this free festival is sure to bring some light to the darkest days of winter. The festival takes place February 1-3, 2018 on the OMSI grounds and surrounding area.

3. Portland Seafood & Wine Festival

Seafood lovers are going to want to mark this date on the calendar early. Featuring Dungeness crab, oysters, local wine and live music at the Oregon Convention Center, this is one tasty festival to catch this winter. The festival takes place February 2 and 3rd, 2018.

4. Cascade Festival of African Films

Taking place at the Hollywood Theater and PCC's Cascade Campus, this free film festival highlights films from Africa. In its 27th year, this festival takes place from February 2 through March 3, 2018.

5. Oregon Truffle Festival

Celebrating the Northwest truffle, this 13-year-old festival is set in both Eugene and Yamhill and promises some mouth-watering truffle preparations, demonstrations and tastings. The Yamhill portion of the event takes place February 16 through 18, 2018 at various locations in the Willamette Valley.

6. Portland International Film Festival

Screening 140 international shorts and feature films from February 15 through March 1, 2018, this is one festival film lovers won't want to pass on. The nearly month long festival, put on by the NW Film Center, takes place at numerous venues throughout the city.
