Those two aspects alone and adding its rugged history, make Cheyenne the ideal place to visit, especially from July 22 through July 31, 2022. Get some tickets today and head on over to one of the most unique things to do in the state.
Cheyenne Frontier Days is an annual rodeo and western event that has been celebrated since 1897. It is quite the event and one of the best roadside attractions in the state.
In fact, this festival has earned the moniker, "The Daddy of 'em All" due to its long history and the fact that it is the largest in the world.
The event draws around 200,000 people, worldwide, every year. The majority of the activities are held at Frontier Park, while others, such as the pancake breakfast, take place in other parts of the city.
The main attraction is the world's largest outdoor rodeo, drawing top professionals who are competing against each other for more than $1 million dollars in cash and prizes.
Other happenings over the several-day period include behind-the-chutes tours, truck riding, a wild horse race, a Native American Village, a saloon, dancing, an old frontier town, a chuck wagon cook-off, an air show, entertainment, professional bull riding, and parades.
Pictured is a cowboy known as Buffalo Vernon bulldogging (also known as steer wrestling) back in 1910. This is a rodeo event, taking you to one of the most weird places in Wyoming, where a rider drops from his horse and wrestles the steer to the ground by twisting its horns.
The world-class rodeo is known for its fast pace and large number of professional competitors. It is one of the most action-packed rodeos you will ever experience at the world's biggest rodeo in Wyoming.
This year's schedule of events is too long to list, but some highlights include a Western Art Show and Sale, a Jason Aldean concert, a Dierks Bentley concert, a Brooks & Dunn concert, professional bull riders, and a carnival.
Go out and enjoy this unforgettable show!
