Here are just seven Idaho small towns that are perfect for escaping reality, making memories, and enjoying your weekend. The question is, which one will you visit first?
Wallace has it all — history, unique attractions, and outdoor opportunities galore. When you visit, you may just feel like you’ve taken a step back in time with the unique architecture and relaxing vibe of the town. And while Wallace is beautiful any time of year, we are particularly fond of fall! This is one of the most picturesque small towns in Idaho.

If you are searching for a mountain getaway where you can enjoy peace and quiet, Island Park is it. You can book a stay in a cozy cabin tucked away in the forest or stay in the hub of it all at Mack's Inn. Just make sure you take a drive down Main Street, which holds the title of the "longest main street in America." This is one of the most serene small towns in Idaho.
Ketchum is another mountain town that is going to steal your heart. Next to the well-known Sun Valley Resort, this small town is packed with incredible local shops, friendly residents, and the tastiest food. In fact, Ketchum was named a top destination for foodies and one of the most charming towns in Idaho.
Riggins is another small town that is absolutely stunning. This town sits adjacent to Hell’s Canyon and along the Salmon River. If you want to spend some time surrounded by nature, this is the perfect weekend getaway location. Hike, fish, or even raft as Riggins is known as the Whitewater Capital of Idaho!

Of course, when making a list of small towns that are perfect for a weekend escape, Stanley must be on it. Located at the entrance to the Sawtooth Mountains, this extremely small town is delightful in every way. Not only is this one of the most picturesque small towns in Idaho but it is packed with hidden gems and is home to dozens of outdoor activities.
McCall is one small town that every member of the family will enjoy. Here, you can spend time at Payette Lake, eat delicious food, and explore Ponderosa State Park, one of the most beautiful state parks in Idaho. There are also multiple cozy accommodations in this town from lodges to cabins so you'll be comfortable and relaxed all weekend long.

Many people pass through Victor on their way to Jackson, Wyoming, or Grand Teton National Park. But there is so much more to this town. Stop at Victor Emporium and order a famous huckleberry shake, spend the night in a charming bed and breakfast in the area, or take a drive on the Teton Scenic Byway — you'll never be bored!
