Feel free to click the Google Maps to add or remove stops from the trip. Now, turn on your favorite tunes and let's start this journey.
1. Stoby's - Pies from PattiCakes Bakery/ Conway
Our first stop on this road trip would have been the adorable pie shop PattiCakes Bakery in Conway. However, due to an unfortunate fire at its distribution center, PattiCakes Bakery has closed its shops. But have no fear, the award-winning pies will be sold at Stoby’s, right next door. Under the same ownership, you can expect to enjoy the decadent homemade pies that were in the pie case at Patticakes. Oh, and while you're at Stoby's, don't skip over their delicious cheese dip!
2. Daisy's Lunchbox Cafe and Bakery, Searcy
Now, let’s drive to Searcy and stop in at Daisy's Lunchbox Cafe and Bakery. The owner Suzanne learned how to cook from her grandmother. And she named this award-winning bakery after her mother’s beloved pup Daisy. So, this cafe and bakery is both charming and filled with down home roots. Don’t hesitate to try one of the delicious menu items, but be sure to save room for the scrumptious homemade pies. The strawberry pie is a local favorite, and you’ll love it.
3. Ms. Lena's Pies, De Valls Bluff
Next on our road trip is Ms. Lena's Pies in De Valls Bluff. If you have never had a reason to visit De Valls Bluff, then you have just found one. Featured in Southern Living and a nominee of Arkansas’ Hall of Fame, this world-famous pie shop is worth the drive. The pies here are so good that patrons have stood in long lines for the chance to eat a slice of this yummy goodness. While this pie shop serves "the best darn fried pies in the South," you must try the coconut cream pie for yourself. Ms. Lena no longer opens her shop every day. However, if you would like one of her mouthwatering pies, call (870) 998-1385 and place your order. You'll want to plan ahead if you add this stop to your road trip.
4. Charlotte's Eats and Sweets, Keo
Charlotte's Eats and Sweets in Keo is our next pie shop. Easily the pie shop that will remind you the most of grandma’s house - this eatery is as charming as ever. The shop has been recognized by Southern Living as having one of the best pies in the area. So, it doesn’t matter which pie you choose; you will find something that will satisfy your sweet tooth. But get there early to avoid the crowds.
5. Morrison's Fried Pies, Hot Springs
Morrison's Fried Pies in Hot Springs is the last stop on this road trip. The only way to make pies better is to deep fry them, right? And Morrison has done just that. The food truck serves up both sweet and savory pies in crispy handheld crusts. Though the savory pies are yummy, you must try one of the sweet sensations. And with flavors like apple, blackberry, chocolate, coconut, and more, you will not make a bad choice.
Well, folks, these are just five of the charming pie shops in the heart of Arkansas. But we know there are many others that we can include. Where do you think you can find the best pie in Arkansas? Tell us in the comment section which shops we should visit on the next road trip - we'd love to know.
