I Asked Our AI-Travel Planner For a Weekend Adventure in Williams – Here’s What It Created

I decided to play around with our new AI-Travel Planner tool to see what it would come up with for a weekend getaway to Williams, Arizona.

Planning a trip can be a challenge. As someone who wants to do all the things at a given destination, I often run into analysis paralysis as I plan. However, I decided to play around with our new AI-Travel Planner tool to see what it would come up with for a weekend getaway to Williams, Arizona. I am very familiar with Route 66 town, which is referred to as the "Gateway to the Grand Canyon," so it was interesting to see the results, and I am impressed! Not only did it suggest places I have visited, but it also suggested others I had never considered.

How to Use the AI-Travel Planner

Our new AI-Travel Planner is very easy to use. After clicking the "Get Started" button, just add a location. Next, you will have to choose the length of your trip (a day, a weekend, a week, or a month). The next page is where you'll select the month of your journey and, after that, who you're traveling with (yourself, a partner, friends, or family). The last page is where you select your interests — do you want to hike, visit a park, see a natural wonder, or all? What type of accommodations are you looking for? How about activities, shopping, and dining options? It's fun to play around with!

For this example, I selected traveling to Williams with my partner on a weekend getaway in June. I chose nature, natural wonders, sites and landmarks, restaurants, hotels and resorts, and romantic locations in the interest module. Here's what it came up with:

What to Do

Since I chose natural wonders and hiking for my proposed weekend getaway in Williams, the AI-Travel Planner offered some interesting options. One was Sycamore Falls, a place I visited on a glamping getaway at Backland a couple of years ago. It's a remote area reachable after driving on forest roads and taking a short hike. The second option was the Canyon Coaster Adventure Park, home to the state's first mountain coaster. The park also offers mountain tubing, which is only available during the summer. While a fun spot for families, it's also a fun activity for a daytime date.

Where to Dine

As far as dining goes, the AI Planner suggested Cruiser’s Route 66 Cafe, a fun retro diner that'll take you back in time. Here you can dine on a selection of American comfort foods, including BBQ, while surrounded by 1950s decor. In my mind, this place is a great suggestion.

Where to Stay

The planner suggested several accommodations, including two campgrounds, a motel, an inn, and a resort. The Circle Pines KOA is ideal for families or those who want numerous amenities and unique glamping options, while the Kaibab Lake Campground is perfect for lakeside camping. Another unique suggestion was the Canyon Motel & RV Park, which has a retro motel, cabins, rail cars, and cabooses you can book for the night. However, the Sheridan House Inn and Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel suggestions were more my speed for a romantic getaway, so I would probably book one of those.

Overall, I found the AI-Travel Planner to be very helpful with creating an itinerary for a weekend getaway to Williams, Arizona, with my partner. Have you tried this travel planning tool yet?
