The Massive Prime Rib At Taste Of Texas Belongs On Your Dining Bucket List

Taste of Texas in Houston offers massive portions of prime rib and a cozy, rustic dining experience.

We Texans are very picky about our meat, and Taste of Texas in Houston does prime rib unlike you’ve ever tasted it before. The portions are absolutely massive, with a 24-ounce cut made with meat lovers everywhere in mind. You haven't lived until you've tasted this gigantic prime rib in Texas.

Established in 1977, Taste of Texas is a family-owned and operated restaurant that wholeheartedly believes the dinner table is the heart and soul of any Southern home. That's why only the finest cuts of Certified Angus Beef are used, hand-trimmed and aged to perfection.

Inside, the atmosphere has an undeniable rustic charm. Dim lighting, leather armchairs, and an old-fashioned brick fireplace all contribute to the upscale, yet cozy vibe that makes customers feel completely relaxed.

An extensive salad bar features fresh produce, unique toppings, and a vast array of creamy dressings to choose from. It's hearty enough to serve as a full meal, but you can add grilled chicken, soup, or any side dish for a small additional fee.

Each table receives a basket of jalapeno cornbread, fluffy white dinner rolls, and slices of Asiago cheese loaf shortly after being seated. Homemade apple butter and cinnamon honey butter are served as accompaniment for spreading or dipping.

Guests have the opportunity to visit the onsite butcher shop and select the exact steak they would like to eat. Ribeye, center cut filet, New York Strip, T-bone, and the 38-ounce tomahawk are just a few of the options. Get yours wrapped in bacon, seasoned with lemon pepper rub, or sizzling in herb garlic or Bleu cheese butter.

Slow-roasted prime rib is one of the most popular menu items. Tender and juicy, this succulent dish is available in 10, 14, 18, and 24-ounce portions.

The rib is served in natural au jus with red Hawaiian sea salt and tangy horseradish sauce. Add a side like garlic mashed potatoes or fresh green beans with almonds and bacon for a balanced meal your taste buds won't soon forget.

Difficult as it may be, you should at least try to save some room for dessert. This is the "Slice of Heaven," or layered white and dark chocolate mousse in a raspberry sauce. Other popular selections include Snickers pie, four-layer chocolate fudge cake, and apple dumplings.
