This Steamy South Carolina Airbnb Is Made for a Romantic Spring Escape
This magnificent forest treehouse in Travelers Rest has a stunning modern design. But we're most enchanted with the spa-like outdoor shower.
With its stunning, sparkling beaches, laid-back Lowcountry, beautiful lakes, and adventure-filled mountains, South Carolina was made for summer. But spring in the Palmetto State shouldn't be overlooked, especially if you're someone fueled by shoulder-season travel. Whenever I'm considering booking a getaway, I always look for the amenities that set a place apart.
And today's feature destination, the Forestry House, certainly qualifies. Not only is this Upstate Airbnb built into a treehouse, but it also boasts an outdoor shower with wooded views. This steamy getaway will have you packing your bags in no time!
The Forestry House is a luxury treehouse sitting among the forest canopy in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Its breathtaking architecture among the woods will immediately capture your attention and imagination, underscoring the fact that this will be no ordinary stay. As you step inside, take note of the clever use of space. The cabin is set up like a studio apartment, and with just one bed and bathroom, it's best suited for up to two guests. There's a full kitchen stocked with everything you'll need to feel right at home. One of the coolest parts about the space is just how much light there is; two entire walls are almost entirely made of glass, bringing the outdoors inside in the most ethereal manner.
Lounge in the king-sized bed as you gaze out to the stars above, and you'll almost feel as though you're sleeping in the outdoors. And speaking of the outdoors, that's where you'll find the shower. Step out on the deck and marvel at this clever detail: an outdoor shower overlooking 16 private acres. Stepping outside can be a bit brisk, but this steamy shower will make you feel as though you've discovered a private outdoor spa. (Guests should note that in the heart of winter, the shower will not be available as temperatures can dip below freezing.) The deck also features two chairs where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning, listen to the birds, and plan your day of adventure or relaxation—whichever speaks to you.
The Forestry House is ideal for those who wish to disconnect. While there is decent cell phone coverage, there's intentionally zero wi-fi or TV to really help guests feel immersed in the natural beauty of this place. When you're ready to venture out, downtown Travelers Rest is just 10 minutes away, and Asheville is a 45-minute drive. A world of wineries, breweries, restaurants, and hiking trails awaits just beyond your doorstep, although no one could blame you for staying inside your cozy treehouse for the entirety of your stay.
