Doctors and nurses cared for thousands of injured and dying soldiers at the hotel. And, many believe that the spirits of some of those patients remain today, wandering through the hotel.
In fact, guests have long told of seeing one of the nurses, Rachel, as she roams the halls, searching for injured soldiers.
But, if you don't see Rachel wandering the halls, you may see her rummaging through the dresser drawers in your room or even going through your luggage.
Two other apparitions - a woman and a soldier - have also been seen, hand-in-hand, dancing in the ballroom.
