From Hiking Trails To Horseshoe Pits, Montana’s Dog Creek Lodge Is A Haven For Nature Lovers

Dog Creek Lodge in Montana offers a private, cozy experience with year-round activities and excellent amenities.

One of the many (many) wonderful things about Montana is its abundant hidden gems. While tourists flock to our well-known resorts and large hotels, we can enjoy the more off-the-beaten-path spots. If you're a fan of alpine skiing in the winter and family gatherings in the summer, check out Dog Creek Lodge in Olney. It's close to hot spots like Whitefish and Glacier National Park, but you'll feel like you're in your own world.

Dog Creek Lodge sits on 80 pristine acres, surrounded by Stillwater State Forest and Dog Lake.

This was once a private homestead. And although it's now open for weddings, family reunions, romantic getaways, and ski trips, it certainly still feels like a private experience.

During the warmer months, you might be invited to try delicious produce from the hydroponic, pesticide-free garden.

From kale, Swiss chard and other lettuces to cucumbers and tomatoes, there's all sorts of goodness grown here.

In the winter, this place transforms into a true winter wonderland.

Dog Creek Lodge is one of Montana's top nordic destinations.

Over 16 miles of groomed nordic trail systems are opened to the public in the winter, attracting skiers from all over Montana.

You don't have to be an expert to ski here—you just have to love nature and want to have fun.

The "lodge" is actually two giant houses, one of which has 14 bedrooms and capacity for 34 guests!

The other has 5 bedrooms and can host 12 guests comfortably, so it's perfect for a small group of skiers or a large family.

The accommodations here are cozy and inviting, offering all the comforts of home.

You'll sleep like a baby after you've been out hiking, paddle boarding, canoeing, or skiing all day.

When you visit, make sure to stop by the on-site cafe and treat yourself to some wood-fired pizza.

It's absolutely delightful.

Dog Creek Lodge is a true hidden gem.

If you're planning an important event in any season or you just need a winter escape this year, look no further.
