Let your imagination run wild when you experience covered wagon camping in Missouri at Boone Monument Village. Check out where you can go Conestoga Wagon camping in Missouri.
Tucked on the property of the sprawling Boone Monument Village in Marthasville, a restored 19th-century village, the charming Conestoga Wagon offers a one-of-a-kind overnight adventure at this covered wagon campground.
You can also book a stay in one of two historic log cabins - the Mellein Log Cabin and the Rebecca Bedchamber - or a tipi.
While you might feel as though you've journeyed back to the 1850s, you'll still have some modern conveniences. The covered wagon features heat and a cooling system.
If you feel like unplugging, you can easily do that. However, you'll also have WiFi and electric plug-ins, if you prefer staying connected to the 21st century.
The covered wagon is surprisingly spacious, offering enough room to sleep up to six guests in its queen bed and four bunk beds.
You'll have a shared bath with other campers on the property. Fortunately, your walk is short - just about 50 yards - from your covered wagon.
The lawn on which the covered wagon sits is perfect for having a picnic, watching the sunrise or the sunset, and doing a bit of stargazing before turning in for the night.
Heat up some stew or chili on the fire and watch the stars just like the pioneers did once upon a time.
