The Woodland Fairy Cottage is a tiny home vacation rental in Sandpoint. This fairy-themed Idaho Airbnb is located at the base of Schweitzer Mountain and will enchant you the minute you arrive. It truly looks like it was plucked right out of a storybook.
As you walk inside, you’ll feel right at home. This property features a round, open-style floor plan with seating areas and a queen-size bed. There is also a single loft bed that sits right above the queen bed. And, inside the kitchenette, you’ll find on-theme flatware as well as a handful of appliances including a mini fridge and toaster oven.
Despite being a tiny house, you’ll feel like you have plenty of room due to the vaulted ceiling and the large windows that let in ample natural light. This home is also unique as it was built using straw bale construction techniques. The straw bales not only insulate the home but are also an extremely eco-friendly design.
The bathroom is located in a charming outhouse just a few steps outside of the cottage. There is also a rainfall shower located in an outdoor private space that will make you fall in love with this Airbnb even more.
You can also spend plenty of time outdoors as this Sandpoint vacation rental is located on a 6-acre property. It’s tucked away in the trees so you’ll feel like you are in an enchanted forest — perfect for disconnecting. And, if you want to explore, there are walking trails and a nearby creek. Don’t be surprised if you see wildlife of all sizes near the cottage and on your adventures around the property, particularly turkeys and deer. However, keep in mind that this cottage shares the property with the Schweitzer Meadow Lodge Airbnb and you will share the walking trails and creek area with other guests.
Plus, this gorgeous Airbnb is the perfect base camp for nearby attractions such as Schweitzer Mountain Resort, Silverwood Theme Park, and many more.
Whether you wish to disconnect or you are ready for adventures in Idaho’s panhandle, prepare to be enchanted at the Woodland Fairy Cottage. This fairy-themed cottage is like a page from a storybook that has come to life.

Idaho is beautiful. I have lived and traveled all across the state from the panhandle to southern Idaho and each area is full of natural beauty. However, to enjoy many one-of-a-kind scenes, you will need to put forth a little extra effort. Although, there is one destination where little walking is required and the view is going to inspire you in every way — Lookout Butte Lookout.

Lookout Butte Lookout is a 60-foot tower in the Moose Creek District of the Nez Perce National Forest. It is one of the best places to view some of Mother Nature’s greatest creations in Northern Idaho.
To reach Lookout Butte Lookout, you will travel to Lowell. Cross the Selway Bridge, drive 3.5 miles, and cross the Swiftwater Bridge on your right. You will continue for 13 miles to reach the lookout.
This is a seasonal lookout tower that you must reserve to visit. It is a great place to spend the night — the sunset and sunrise views are hard to compare.
Lookout Butte Lookout is 60 feet tall and offers panoramic views. You can easily spend hours staring at the scene in front of you.
Even better, you don’t have to hike to the tower. You can drive right to Lookout Butte Lookout but be prepared — you will need to climb the stairs to the top. A high-clearance vehicle is strongly recommended to reach the tower.
Up to four people can stay at the lookout. Inside, you’ll find two twin beds and two cots. There are a small number of amenities available such as a propane stove and oven, table and chairs, and cleaning supplies. You will want to bring food and cooking supplies, bedding, flashlights, binoculars, a camera, and anything else you might need for some time away from home.
