The Charming Small Town In Montana That Was Home To Michelle Williams Once Upon A Time
Michelle Williams, a successful actress, was born and raised in Kalispell, Montana, which is also a gateway to Glacier National Park.
It seems as if every day we hear about another celebrity who visits Montana, buys or builds a home in Montana, or films a movie in Montana. But it isn't often that we get to claim a Hollywood A-lister as a true Montanan. Big Sky Country has been the birthplace of actors, musicians, athletes, authors, and politicians... but our most famous face is the beautiful Michelle Williams, Montana born and raised. (At least for nearly a decade)
Kalispell, a small city in northwest Montana, is considered to be a gateway to Glacier National Park.
Kalispell is the county seat of Flathead County, and it's ridiculously charming.
Charles Edward Conrad, a businessman and banker from Fort Benton, formed the Kalispell Townsite in the late 1800s with the help of three other men.
Since then, the city has only continued to grow (although it's still a small town by any definition). These days, it's a well-known spot for those who love the outdoors.
On September 9, 1980, Michelle Williams was born in Kalispell to politician and trader Larry R. Williams.
Williams' family had lived in Montana for generations. She always had a close relationship with her father, who taught her how to fish and shoot.
When she was nine, her family moved to San Diego.
But to this day, Williams has said she has fond memories of her childhood in Montana.
Of course, Williams went on to become one of the most successful actresses in the U.S.
She got her big break Dawson's Creek in 1998, taking on the role of Jen Lindley.
Over the years, Williams has starred in Blue Valentine, My Week with Marilyn (pictured here), Shutter Island, and so much more.
She has been called one of the best and most underrated actresses of our time. Watching her work, it's hard to argue with that assessment.
It's wild to think such a successful and well-known person was born right here in Kalispell.
And out of all the places Williams has seen in her days, she still thinks fondly of her time as a Montanan.
Michelle williams' hometown is not the only thing that Montana can lay claim to. The beautiful Glacier National Park is pretty neat, too:
Michelle Williams, Montana native, captured our hearts in TV and films. Were you aware that she was born in Kalispell, Montana?
While we can't say we had a hand in celebrities claiming Montana as home, there are plenty of reasons to be proud of Montana. Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is another one of our special treasures.
