DC is an amazing city with a fascinating history. Even though it’s a city that’s constantly changing, residents have been recording the history of our city since the very beginning. So we went searching for some old photos of Washington DC and we were not disappointed! Here are 12 of the oldest photos ever taken of DC! Early DC was quite an interesting era.

1. The National Cathedral under construction in the early 1900s.

It became such a magnificent structure.

2. The Old Stone House in Georgetown from the early 1900s.

Can you believe it's still around?

3. A streetcar in DC in the early 1900s.

It would be cool if these were still here.

4. Construction of the Capitol building in 1861.

And look at it now!

5. The Smithsonian Institution in 1860.

It's still looking fine today!
