Looking for something to do on Memorial Day that doesn’t involve staying home and cooking out? Wanting to take the children somewhere different? Or, just you and the significant other and wanting to do something fun? Well, I have some great ideas for you! Festivals and celebrations abound in South Carolina during Memorial Day Weekend. Why not take the weekend off and make some new memories!

One of the oldest festivals in the southeast, this festival includes concerts, arts and crafts, flower show, quilt show, car show, great food and a great time to be had by all who attend! Held at 822 W. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29150

The Aiken Civic Ballet will be putting on a show for you starting at 7 p.m. They recommend bringing chairs or a blanket. It is family friendly and free to the public. Held at: 1700 Whiskey Road, Aiken, SC.

Free for the whole family! Aiken puts on a Memorial Day Parade every year for everyone. Who can resist a parade?

A parade in downtown Greenville starts it off with a bang on Friday followed by the Scottish games at Furman University on Saturday. Certainly a unique experience!

Lonestar BBQ in Santee, SC, is putting on a show for the ages! It is a weekend of music, great food, and great fun!

Happening all weekend long! Free to the public except in instances of baseball tournaments which may require a small entrance fee.
