The Enchanting Portland Park That Everyone In Your Family Will Love

If your family loves sports, this is the park you need to visit as soon as you can. The 90-acre Gabriel Park, nestled in Southwest Portland is everything you need for a day of fun and adventure with your family this fall. Featuring a bevy of outdoor activities as well as the neighboring Southwest Community Center, the park is loaded with things to do to keep you and your family entertained for hours.

Gabriel Park has been park of the Portland Park system since its purchase in 1950.

The park is named after Ulrich Gabriel, a Swiss immigrant, who farmed his property and operated Pine Creek Dairy on the same site as the present-day park.

The 10,000-square foot skatepark is one of the park's biggest draws.

Featuring a 9-foot deep bowl, 2,000 square feet of unique perimeter, and 8,000 square feet of snake run, the skatepark is a premier ride in the area.

Paved walking trails make it easy to take a stroll through the park.

Accessible bathrooms, picnic areas, play areas, and parking make the park suitable for everyone.

When you are ready to get active, Gabriel Park has it all.

Basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, volleyball and softball fields all await at this expansive park in the city.

And when you have had enough of the outdoors (or the rain ends your fun), head into the Southwest Community Center on the northwest edge of the park for even more fun.

Indoor basketball, an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, and even a rock climbing wall will keep everyone busy for awhile.

Come fall, this is a wonderful place to see the trees changing colors.

A beautiful display of reds, yellows, and browns usher in the fall season here, and ample picnic tables make it a lovely place for a fall picnic.

If you have a dog, you are going to want to bring him or her along for the fun too.

Featuring a nearly 2-acre off-leash area complete with plenty of benches and picnic tables, Gabriel Park is one of the most popular dog parks in the city.

Adjacent to the park is the Gabriel Park Community Garden and Demonstration Orchard.

Once of the oldest community gardens in the city, today Gabriel Park Community Garden is one of over 50 community gardens throughout Portland.
