Nestled between our state's tallest mountains, Lake Placid's Main Street has everything from charming attractions to one-of-a-kind views that will draw you in.
Sitting right along the shores of Mirror Lake, this area is nothing short of magnificent. Many of the businesses lining Main Street have a front row seat to these incredible waterfront views.
Main Street is transformed by the annual winter glow and quickly becomes decorated in things like holiday lights and head-turning snow sculptures. It's easy to see why this is considered the best winter town in New York.
Further transforming Main Street into something magical, each year for one week Lake Placid hosts their Holiday Village Stroll that highlights some of our favorite parts of town.
Giving you a reason to enjoy some of our favorite stops along Main Street, the Holiday Stroll will take place this year from December 13th through the 15th.
Those who plan to visit the town of Lake Placid on the weekend of the Holiday Stroll can expect to witness and partake in things like soup, chili, and chowder tastings along Main Street.
On December 14th, you'll also see locals running (or walking) around Mirror Lake bright and early at 8:30 a.m. for the Jingle Bell Run - where people are encouraged to wear holiday-themed costumes.
During the weekend of the Holiday Stroll, visitors and locals can expect to discover plenty of ways to keep the young ones happy - especially with so many opportunities to meet Santa. This family-friendly place can't be missed.
