As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
New Jersey offers a multitude of resorts located around our bustling beaches and, while they’re all wonderful, few offer seclusion. One of the most popular resorts away from the shore is Crystal Springs in Sussex County. An incredible getaway, you can learn more here. While I highly recommend a visit to this mountain escape, the Garden State is home to a hidden resort that will leave you feeling relaxed and renewed.
If you live in New Jersey, you've probably heard of Renault Winery. Established in 1864, it is one of the oldest continuously operating wineries in the United States. What you may not know is that the winery is also home to a luxurious resort.
Tucked away in the Pine Barrens, amenities at this remote resort include an 18-hole golf course, outdoor pool, spectacular scenery and, of course, an on-site vineyard and winery.
Resort guests and visitors alike can enjoy winery tours and tastings. Tours run daily and last around 40 minutes. $10 will get you a guided tour, tasting and etched wine glass. Renault offers regular events including the Stomp The Grapes 5K on 11/19. Participants over 21 will be rewarded with a complimentary glass of wine at the finish line.
This Italianate-style hotel is sure to drop your jaw. You'll be surrounded by splendor in common areas and will enjoy lavishly appointed rooms and suites.
The resort offers two mouthwatering dining options, the Gourmet Restaurant and Joseph's Restaurant. Head to the Gourmet Restaurant (guest or not) for a delectable Sunday brunch featuring pancakes, waffles, omelets, French toast, $3 Bloody Marys and make-your-own mimosas. Joseph's Restaurant serves breakfast (Saturdays), lunch and dinner (daily) and offers an Italian menu and unique bar made of casks.

Whether you’re spending the night or just grabbing a bite, you can visit Renault Winery, Resort & Golf at 72 N Bremen Ave., Egg Harbor City. Have you been to Renault before? Are you familiar with the resort? Share your experience in the comments. For more hidden gems in New Jersey, check out this fantastic restaurant in the middle of nowhere.
