Take A Tropical Island Getaway At The Largest Tiki Bar In New Jersey
As the weather gets warmer, my mind always trends towards the Jersey Shore. March and April is when most of the beach's main attractions open for the season, although some wait until closer to summer. Still, stores, indoor attractions, and food should all be open for business, and that's often worth a visit even when the water is still cold. I know Boardwalk food doesn't always get the best reputation, same as the food at most tourist attractions, but that makes the exceptions all the more exciting - and it doesn't get more exciting than the largest tiki bar in New Jersey. Martell's in Point Pleasant Beach is a massive complex on the Jenkinson's Boardwalk featuring over five food concepts under one massive roof. During the day, it's filled with hungry visitors to one of New Jersey's most popular boardwalks. But by night it turns into a massive party filled with live music and amazing views. No matter when you get here, you'll feel like - as the jingle famously says - a Caribbean island is never too far from Martell's Tiki Bar!
Martell's Tiki Bar has got to be one of the biggest restaurants at the Jersey Shore. How big?
We couldn't even get it all in one image! There are over five different food concepts at this massive Jersey Shore institution.
The most popular spot is the main food hall, which serves as the primary eating area for Jenkinson's. But don't expect simple beach hot dogs here.
You can dig into subs, lobster rolls, or tacos here - although my favorite spot is the Shrimp Bar, a fast-casual counter that serves up spiced steamed shrimp and seared tuna cubes.
Towards the back of the massive complex, you'll find a sushi counter - as well as the famous tiki bar, dishing out beers and cocktails well into the njght.
Jake's Crab House is for those who want a step up in food - a casual restaurant serving up Italian-accented seafood dishes and crispy fish sandwiches.
And then there's Martell's Lobster House, the high-end seafood restaurant offering full meals in a charming setting.
The highlight here is definitely the steampots, which let the subtle flavor of the seafood shine.
Then there's the massive outdoor dining area, which is perfect for views of the shore on a nice day.
At night, this area often comes alive with the sound of live music - it's the biggest party spot in Point Pleasant Beach!

While you're on the boardwalk, make sure to check out Jenkinson's bizarre funhouse! If you're planning to have a multi-day getaway in Point Pleasant Beach, consider checking into The White Sands Oceanfront Resort & Spa, and make sure to take one night to experience The Poached Pear - the town's best fine-dining experience.
