This Little Known Park In New Jersey Is The Perfect Place To Get Away From It All
New Jersey has dozens of incredible national, state, county and local parks, each with so much to offer. Some parks are more well-known while others are popular among locals, but a secret to those outside the immediate area. Colonial Park falls into the latter category… unless, of course, you golf.

The park is home to the 18-hole Spooky Brook Golf Course and a unique mini-golf course favoring natural contours and mini-gardens to shape each hole over boxed amusements. The putting course is handicap accessible, and the second such course in the nation.

If a relaxing round of golf isn't your style, don't despair - there's so much else to enjoy. Guests can hike, bike, fish, rent a paddle boat, play tennis and much more.

One of the park's highlights is the gorgeous gardens you'll find on the grounds. There is an arboretum (a living tree museum) and the Rudolf W. Van Der Goot Rose Garden. The garden has over 3000 roses and around 325 different varieties.

Surround yourself with natural beauty and a wide range of outdoor activities, and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Take your furry friend to the dog park, or challenge yourself to a long, beautiful trail (the park offers access to D&R Canal State Park).

The park is free to visit and offers a variety of both free and paid events. Coming up on August 6th is a free bee seminar, future events include photography and floral arranging workshops (for a fee).
