The White Mountains are the ultimate playground if you love to get outside. Hiking, biking, kayaking, history, scenic vistas — it's all here and waiting for you. To take it all in you are going to need more than a day. Located in one of my favorite towns, the Eagle Mountain House is one of the best hotels in Jackson, NH for exploring the Mt. Washington Valley.

Since the late 19th century, the Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club has been welcoming guests to the White Mountains.

Minutes from Eagle Mountain House is the village of North Conway. The village is a four-season wonderland full of restaurants, shops, and attractions.

While in Conway, consider a trip on the Conway Scenic Railroad. This trip travels up through Crawford Notch in the heart of the White Mountains.

One of the area's premier attractions is the Mt. Washington Cog Railway, where you can travel by train to the highest summit in the northeast.

Right in Jackson, a short but steep hike can be made to North and South Doublehead. This pair of conical peaks provides spectacular views over the Mt. Washington Valley.
